RE: Got Rid Of The Windshield Water Spots

Thanks for this link. I think this may just solve my problem on all my windows. I have hard water spots on all my windows that have been there since I bought the truck. A body shop here said he could possibly buff the film off but for me to try wax compound and 0000 steel wool. The steel wool works but man, is it a job!
Thanks again!

RE: Rear Kitchen TTs By Jayco and Others

We had a Jayfeather 25Z which was the predecessor to the 25F. I loved the rear kitchen. We have a Jayflight now and have had no real problems with either one.
We had absolutely no problems towing or with tongue weight. We just loaded most of the weight in the front pass-thru storage area.
I am another that loves Jayco. Their customer service is fantastic. I had a concern with the Jayfeather drain being too low and they rerouted the 05's like ours to raise the drain outlet. It was done as a "product enhancement " after we had ours for 2 years.

RE: Favorite Ground beef recipes, any new ones?

Have you tried the website allrecipes.com? They have some really good recipes for ground beef. We buy a half a beef every year so we use a lot of it too. There is a recipe on there for Bacon-swiss meatloaf that is really good.

RE: Who is leaving out this weekend & where are you going

We aren't going anywhere this weekend(just got back in Sunday) but, my sister and her family may be leaving out to come over here. They are talking about bringing their camper for hunting season as they are in our hunting club. We have one camper that stays here all year.
We camp in the yard sometimes with them which is fun & cheap!

RE: What breed of dog is that?

Deb
I've also had folks scrutinize him, wondering out loud what he reminds them of.....and I laugh and say "Dingo?" since he has a strong resemblance to his long-ago ancestors....LOL!!
We have gotten the same thing so many times! :B Stryker still has his tail which makes him look like a dingo/coyote. I keep him in a pen during deer hunting season because he looks so much like a coyote.

RE: What breed of dog is that?

We have a Australian Cattle Dog, and while most folks have seen blue heelers ours is red. So I get funny looks when I tell them we have a red heeler.
I did have a person at a fair a couple of years ago ask me if my son's show heifer(800 lbs) was a dog!! No joke! Granted she did have a halter and lead but come on!

RE: can you deduct intrest paid on your TT on your taxes

Yes. When you have enough deductions to itemize you can use the interest as a deduction. Your lender may send you a 1098 for your taxes at the end of the year both of ours have.
*Edited for clarity of 1098 statement.

RE: Yikes! Did I just eat Kentucky Wild Boar bacon?!!!!

We have trapped and raised them to be processed. Very tasty indeed!! Much better than grocery store pork. After you have eaten a home raised hog the grocery store pork simply tastes "watered down".
To the OP, I would think that it is illegal to sell wild hog meat commercially much like it would be to sell wild venison commercially. I know that if you trap them you cannot sell them live here in Georgia. You can give them away to folks who want to raise them for slaughter but selling trapped feral hogs is illegal.

RE: Gas Avilablility in GA

Some of our stations here in Washington have been out all this week. Most have gotten fuel/gas today or late yesterday.
I do not know about further up the road but, my boss was limited to $20 at a station in Athens yesterday. He drives a Hyundai Sonata so I don't know how they would apply the limits to a much larger vehicle.

RE: Jayco Eagle Super Lite 31.5FBHS

We now have our second Jayco product and we have been very pleased with both of them. Jayco has great customer service as well. I have looked at the floorplan you are talking about and I agree it is a good one for families with kids.
IMHO you can't go wrong with a Jayco.

RE: Combining Camping with your other Hobbies....

We combine beef cattle shows and RVing. Like another poster said, it sure is nice to sleep in your own bed. After being in the barn all day at a show it's nice to veg out while watching TV before crashing for the night. It is also nice to bed able to trot down to the trailer and have a sandwich and not have to eat out the whole weekend. Lots cheaper too!
We also have hunting buds who bring their campers to our land for deer hunting season and we sometimes "driveway" camp with them on the weekends.

RE: Gas prices and people getting stupid!!

My Mom called me yesterday from SC to say that prices had shot sky high there and there was a shortage. I thought, Oh good grief here we go again. Today it started at lunch here. Regular gas shot up $.60 at all but 2 stations. Since diesel had not changed and I needed fuel I went ahead and got it. No lines yet at 12:30pm. This afternoon around 5:00 at the same station diesel was up .20. One station in town did not change his price ($3.69) and at 5pm there were 14...that's right 14 people in line. My son's teacher told them when he left school today regular gas is now $6 in Augusta, GA.
When I got my fuel today, I asked the guy who runs the station why the guy across the street just went up $.60 and he said "the storm". I said the storm's in TX not GA. His reply was the pipeline was already down and the bulk plant in Augusta was empty and the one in Athens was almost empty. I said that is a bunch of BS, that may be what they are telling y'all but any excuse is as good as another I guess. What a crock!

RE: renting several spots in a CG?

In our area and very limited experience, we have found COE CGs offer what you are looking for without having to take 3 spaces. Very few are open in the winter though. I would guess it would depend on how busy a CG is as to whether they would have a problem with taking more than one site. Some require that the site actually be occupied. I would just inform the CG of your intentions when you call to make reservations and ask what their policy would be in that situation.
Have fun!

RE: Fuel efficency experiment

I think more people than not are changing over to the OP's way of thinking around here anyway. We saw a couple of State Patrol friends of ours in a restaurant last week and DH asked them who was out on the road if all of them were eating. Just joking around with them. They said that they had been on the Interstate for 3 hours prior and written 1 ticket. Both of them said people are either slowing down or staying home.
On another note I do not understand the logic of the person obeying the law is the danger on the road. Just because they are in the minority the majority of the time doesn't make them the danger IMO. It is the lemmings who are following the speed demons who are the real danger.

RE: Newbie needs kitchen tips

Hi Sheila!
Welcome to the Camping/Rving world! We also cook most of the greasy smelly foods outside on our Coleman stove.(We only have one though LOL)We use our oven and microwave also. We have an RVQ that came with our TT that really comes in handy for cooking low fat meats like hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, smoked sausage, etc.
We usually cook the same foods we would at home just more grillin' going on.

RE: 2009 Jayco Jayflight 32bhds

It is also one of our faves! We looked at the same FP in a Dutchmen several years ago and like WildBillUSMC said, I thought the outside entrance to the bathroom was genius! I could just imagine all the advantages to having it when at the lake or beach and when it was rainy and messy outside.
